Description of the tour
On this four-hour tour we will visit Puerto Montt, the capital of the tenth region of Chile, and the town of Puerto Varas - the tourist capital of the Lake District.
First we will visit the viewing platform overlooking the whole Reloncavi Sound and the city of Puerto Montt. Then we will go to the downtown, coastway, and the monument to the first German settlers; in the main square we will visit the redwood (alerce) Cathedral built in 1856. Then we will visit the city beach at a place called Pelluco and thence go to the place called Angelmo on the other side of the city, where the souvenir and seafood markets are placed. Then, after reaching the Pan American highway, we will head for a small town of Puerto Varas located on the shore of Lake Llanquihue, where we will see the major tourist attractions: the Church of Sagrado Corazon de Jesus, Philippi Park, the main square, and the handicraft market. In good weather the embankment offers amazing views of the Osorno and Calbuco Volcanoes with glaciers that fill the crystal clear water of Lake Llanquihue.
